This is one of the many kinds of birds I’m supposed to see at my birdfeeder. It’s one of many different varieties of birds that I see. In addition to chickadees, on any given morning I might also see house finches, gold finches, cardinals, juncos, mourning doves, house sparrows, and tufted titmice. Now and again I get a blue jay, and once in a while I even get a red-bellied woodpecker.
But I also get this kind of “bird” fairly regularly. You’ll note from the way he’s looking at me that he’s well aware that he isn’t supposed to be there. And it’s not as though I don’t put corn cobs out for him. Unfortunately, it seems he prefers sunflower seeds.
