Welcome to my portfolio. I am an Assistant Professor of Political Science at Saint Mary’s College, where I teach courses in Political Theory, Human Rights, and Politics and Religion, as well as general education courses in Political Issues. I also teach in the College’s Writing Proficiency Program, and am a regular contributor to ProfHacker, a blog on pedagogy, productivity, and technology hosted at the Chronicle of Higher Education.
My principal research interests are in teaching and learning, including (but not limited to) the creative use of digital tools in a traditional classroom setting, and in the relationship between religion and politics in a pluralist democratic society. My approach to the relationship between religion and politics lies at the intersection of Political Science, Philosophy, and Theology. The questions I raise are both normative and practical, addressing concerns about how religious believers should conduct themselves in public life and exploring how citizens of a wide variety of religious traditions can effectively engage in political dialogue with one another.
